Celebrating TFC’s JFK Runway Run, If Not Running

The cold on Sunday, April 15th did not stop The Family Center from celebrating the JFK Runway Run with a brunch hosted by Board Chair, Shamoun Afram. Team TFC and supporters gathered early Sunday afternoon for food and drinks while mingling and learning more about the agency’s work.

For the first time in 6 years, we did not participate in the JFK Runway Run due to inclement weather conditions.

The Family Center decided to not participate in this year’s run, opting for the safety and health of our team given the forecasted weather coupled with the winds from the water surrounding the airport. Though in the past the The Family Center team has run in some fairly chilly temperatures, this time we had severe concerns about everyone’s health following a run in the cold and rain.

The Family Center’s warm, festive brunch included a check presentation from Board Vice Chair, Joel M. Field III, to The Family Center on behalf of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation. The Family Center was selected from nonprofit applicants all over the world to receive a $2,500 grant reward to support caregiver families receiving services at the agency.

We would like to thank everyone who signed up to participate as a member of the TFC JFK Runway Run team and everyone who showed their support through contributions. If you didn’t get a chance to be a part of this event, you can still support The Family Center and our families by clicking here to donate now. Below are more photos from Sunday’s JFK Run Brunch.
