Title of Job: Bi-Lingual YouthNet Social Worker
Description: The Family Center has extensive experience in developing programs for vulnerable youth and their families. YouthNet is funded by the NYC Administration for Children’s Services to address the needs of teens at risk of out-of-home placement,
providing a rich menu of home-based services including individual and family therapy and mediation. YouthNet operates out of the agency’s Brooklyn office in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The bi-lingual Spanish speaking social worker will provide conflict resolution as well as individual and family therapy to YouthNet families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home-based therapeutic services to high-risk teens and their families residing in Brooklyn, including individual, family and group work.
- Provide mediation/conflict resolution services to youth and families.
- Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment.
- Complete Family Assessment Service Plans (FASPs) and other documentation required by the funding agency.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision and weekly team meetings.
- Develop and facilitate groups for teens, parents/caregivers and families.
- Special Projects as requested.
Requirements:
- Masters in human services discipline such as social work, psychology, art therapy or counseling.
- Experience providing individual and family therapy.
- Interest in being trained to deliver mediation/conflict resolution services required;prior training in and experience with providing mediation/conflict resolution services preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish.
- Familiairty with PROMIS and CONNECTIONS preferred.

Early Support for Lifelong Success Program
The Family Center is a not-for-profit organization proving social and legal services to families affected by life threatening parental illness, absence and loss. The Family Center has been the pioneer in the design and research of health care coordination and education, permanency planning and advocacy services that address the myriad of issues that challenge families. The Early Support for Lifelong Success program is a newly funded service aimed at supporting the early childhood development of HIV-affected children through education, advocacy and therapeutic services. A longitudinal evaluation of children and families enrolled in ESLS will be conducted in order to determine the program’s effectiveness.
As the leader for this new program, the Program Supervisor will be instrumental in shaping the program design, including the evaluation components. The Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of program development, implementation of services and coordination with the agency evaluation team. The Program Supervisor reports to the Director of Social Services and is a member of the agency’s Senior Staff.
Responsibilities:
- Refine all aspects of program design and develop appropriate client educational, promotional and assessment materials.
- Hire, train, and supervise direct service staff to provide assessment, care coordination, psycho-education, and play therapy targeting development of HIV-affected children ages 0-7.
- Establish and maintain liaisons and collaborations with partner organizations and convene a Community Advisory Council.
- Develop and supervise group interventions for parents and caregivers of young children.
- Handle administrative duties for program operation including quarterly reviews of case records.
- Work with Program Evaluator to ensure accurate and timely collection of program data.
- Work with Quality Assurance Manager in development of funder reports.
- Maintain a small caseload.
- Special projects as requested
Requirements:
- LCSW
- Four years experience in providing play therapy services to young children.
- Two years clinical supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish, a strong plus.
