Volunteer Now!

Volunteers are a valuable and treasured part of The Family Center.

The Family Center volunteer program is flexible and welcomes anyone who is committed to our mission. Volunteers enhance and support the services we provide our clients. We offer many ways for volunteers to work directly with children and families though ongoing or one-time volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers work closely with staff and clients. Some work in our offices and others work in our clients' homes. Some help guide the organization or fundraise as members of the Board of Directors or Junior Board. All volunteers are placed in positions according to their skills, interests, and schedule.

The Buddy Program

The Buddy Program matches dedicated and committed adult volunteers with children/teens age 6 to 16 for fun, friendship, and support. Matches make a one-year commitment to spending 6-10 hours a month together, making phone calls in between visits. In addition, The Family Center sponsors group events throughout the year for all buddy matches in the program. Here's what some of our buddies have to say:

"He's the best thing I have goin' in my life"
- Marshall Simon, Actor/Singer/Model, Nayquan's Buddy for 2 1/2 years

"Seeing her smile is by far the best and most rewarding part of being a buddy!
- Lauren Sbordone, Archipelago, Jena's Buddy for 3 months
