The Family Center: For Families Affected by Parental Illness
Home » Programs » Outreach
Outreach

The Outreach team educates and informs our community of consumers, community based organizations, governmental and non governmental agencies about The Family CenterŐs mission to help families ensure a secure present and future for children affected by parental illness, absence and loss.

We also provide trainings and offer presentations on topics such as permanency planning, illness disclosure, grief and loss, child development, family communication, HIV medications, HIV treatment adherence and a number of legal issues. Our trainings are free and offered throughout the five boroughs of New York City. We also travel nationwide to present on our work. We are multicultural, multilingual and sensitive to the needs of our community.

If you are a parent affected by a life threatening illness, a grandparent, or other caregiver raising minor children, and need services, or if you know of someone who would benefit from our services, please call us. You can reach our Intake Department by calling 800-219-4522, ext. 2 or by e-mailing us at info@thefamilycenter.org.
