The Family Center: For Families Affected by Parental Illness

Group Schedule

  1. Capoeira: Children will learn capoeira techniques and movement while they work on socialization and behavior skills.

  2. Caregiver Connections: Discussion and activities based mutual support group for elderly caregivers addressing new parent responsibilities and the stressors related to this situation.

  3. Parents and Children together with Art (PACT): Arts-oriented activities group to help families express emotions and build communication.

  4. Paw Pals Animal Assisted Therapy: Children will be paired with therapeutic animals to address and work on issues of illness, isolation and individualized needs.

  5. TeenSHARE: Teen oriented HIV/STI prevention discussion and activity group.

  6. TeenTEACH Community Outreach: Graduated teens from previous TeenTEACH group will lead presentations in the community about HIV/STI prevention.

  7. Teen Time: Teen discussion and activities group focused on exploring the personal interests of the teens and providing respite from their difficult situations.

  8. Women's Wellness Group: Discussion and activities group to help women cope with HIV-related issues and medical adherence.
