Outreach and Education

TFC Peer Outreach Educators and staff with Gabrielle Union, spreading the word at Komen Greater NYC's Race for the Cure.

The Family Center Outreach and Community Education team educates and informs our community of consumers, community based organizations, governmental and non-governmental agencies about our agency’s unique program of social and legal services for New Yorkers struggling with a family crisis or loss.

Our staff and Peer Outreach Educators, a team of clients who serve as advocates on behalf of The Family Center, provide trainings and offer presentations on topics such as permanency planning, illness disclosure, grief and loss, child development, family communication, HIV medication & treatment adherence, and a number of legal issues.

Our trainings are free and offered throughout the five boroughs of New York City. We also travel nationwide to present on our work. Our seasoned team is multicultural, multilingual and sensitive to the needs of our community.

If you are an organization interested in partnering with us or connecting your community with our services, please contact us here to schedule an outreach presentation or educational workshop from our expert staff.
