VIDEO PUBLICATIONS

  • "Bigger Than This Manhattan" - (1998) This sensitive video takes viewers into the lives of kids from age 6 to 15 who are living with a parent with HIV/AIDS. For some children, this film is the first time they have publicly spoken about their lives. They share their feelings about how hard, frightening and lonely it can be. They also show how strong, resilient and spirited they are. The children speak of the difficulty of revealing their situation to peers and adults, and describe the responsibilities they assume in caring for their parents. Produced by The Family Center, this video is an excellent resource to share with children in similar situations, therapists, guidance counselors, youth workers and for support groups for ill parents. ($10)

  • "A Gift for My Children" - (1995) This twenty-minute Family Center video illustrates some of the issues families are confronted with as they try to create a custody plan for their children. This video is designed for professionals to use with families and as a training tool for professionals. ($10)

  • "Taking the First Step" - (1998) This seven-minute video features Family Center clients and staff participating in our Project Care services. The video stresses the in-home delivery of services, the team approach of Project Care, including attorneys on staff, and tailoring service delivery to match the needs of the family. ($10)
