2nd Annual Harvest Ball is a Smashing Success!

On Thursday, October 18th, Family Center Board members, Leadership Council members, staff, volunteers, donors and client families gathered at Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan to celebrate our work at the 2nd Annual Harvest Ball.  The evening was filled with moving speeches from Family Center youth and a mother who tragically lost a daughter to gun violence.  Guests were moved by these testimonials and gave generously to support our work keeping families stronger, longer.

Guests were also thrilled to honor two essential members of The Family Center family: Aren LeeKong and Liquidnet For Good.  Five years ago, Aren LeeKong generously founded The Irene LeeKong Institute for Health & Wellness at The Family Center in memory of his grandmother.  It annually provides over 250 children and teens, and their family members, with psychological and psychiatric counseling in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.  The Harvest Ball institutional honoree, Liquidnet For Good, celebrates a 10-year partnership with The Family Center this year.  Liquidnet employees donate their time, energy and resources to everything from The Family Center Annual Toy Drive to launching new initiatives like a technology literacy program for agency clients.  A critical member of this Liquidnet team is Sarah Stone, who is also The Family Center Leadership Council Fundraising Chair.

Together with The Family Center Board Chair Shamoun Afram, Sarah co-chaired Harvest Ball 2018, which raised over $200,000 for our programs strengthening vulnerable NYC children and families.  We at The Family Center are grateful for everyone who supported this Gala by sponsoring, attending, donating, volunteering etc.  We hope to see everyone in 2019 for the 3rd Annual Harvest Ball when we celebrate our 25th Anniversary!
