On the evening of Thursday, September 12th, Family Center friends and family gathered to celebrate the opening of The Irene LeeKong Health & Wellness Institute and our new office in Brooklyn.
Guests enjoyed tours from children and youth in our Buddy Program and moving speeches given by Board Chair Amy Yates Capone, Director Aren LeeKong, who dedicated the Institute in memory of his grandmother, and a client who was helped by The Family Center and now gives back by serving as a Peer Outreach Educator. B+C Restaurants, known for its support of Brooklyn, generously sponsored the delicious food.

When the evening’s program wrapped up with a beautiful song dedicated to our children, guests were reluctant to leave the beautiful new home that we’ve created for our client families. The Family Center remains grateful to all the generous corporations, foundations and individuals who sponsored spaces, supported our expansion in Brooklyn and made the opening a true celebration of keeping vulnerable NYC families stronger, longer.
