The Family Center recently enjoyed a week filled with celebrating our New York Life partnership, thanks to our Board Chair Joel M. Field III, who is an agent affiliated with New York Life, and Leadership Council member Chuck Kelly, a New York Life Corporate Vice President.

On Sunday, April 14th, Joel and Chuck presented The Family Center with a $20,000 check representing the third Community Impact Grant we received from New York Life in four years.  This grant supports The Family Center’s Brooklyn ACTS program, Action for Child and Teen Success, which supports children impacted by trauma with counseling and other supportive services.  Thanks to services made possible by this Community Impact Grant, 75% of children and teens receiving psychological and psychiatric counseling in Brooklyn ACTS experience a reduction of PTSD symptoms.

New York Life's PRIDE Employee Resource Group warmly welcomed The Family Center for a luncheon

Then on Friday, April 18th, New York Life’s PRIDE Employee Resource Group, which Chuck co-chairs, hosted members of The Family Center’s LGBTQ community for a luncheon.  Members of both groups brought personal totems and shared stories about their lives and values.  This joyous occasion wrapped up a week that made one thing very clear:  New York Life and The Family Center foster supportive, inclusive communities that have a natural synergy.

We at The Family Center are grateful that so many New York Life employees are part of our family!
