Recommendations from Client Leaders

Greetings from TFC's Consumer Advisory Committee!
It's hard to believe that June is here and we are still sheltering in place.  As spring draws to a close, we wanted to share some of the things we have found valuable during this difficult time.  Here are a few recommendations from our CAC members:
Frank recommends DIY Dance Therapy, "Just turn on the radio and dance like no one is watching!  It made me laugh and laugh.  It's been great during quarantine."  Need more inspiration, click here for a video from Pratt Institute.
Renisha has found it helpful to stick as close as possible to her pre-pandemic schedule, keeping the same or similar routines, "This helps me feel close to 'normal' and structure my time."
Etasha has found lots of free online resources to keep herself and her kids busy.  Here are just a few:
  • Free online Computer Coding classes through Khan Academy
  • At-home science activities from Cyberchase on PBS Kids
  • Workshops and support groups for parents of kids and young adults with disabilities through IncludeNYC
  • And information about lots more activities for children and young adults is available at GrowingUpNYC listed by age group, from infant to young adult.
