On Saturday, June 25th, nine Family Center clients attended a pilot of a Budgeting Workshop that was created and conducted by three Leadership Council (LC) members and a Board member. The push to bring financial literacy to our client families was initiated by LC member Zeynep Imre, who volunteered for a time as a mentor in our Buddy Program and noticed the need for more fiscal awareness and knowledge in the client family that she worked with through that program. With the support of our Board, Zeynep and the rest of the LC rolled up their sleeves and put together a very well-received, informative workshop. Stay tuned for future workshops as the LC’s Financial Literacy Initiative gets off the ground and empowers our client families to take control of their finances!
