The Family Center’s Legal Wellness Institute (LWI) is delighted to announce that we are partnering with the O’Neill Family Foundation through The Continued Care Project, which will provide representation in 17-A guardianship matters for adults with mental retardation or developmental disabilities throughout NYC Surrogate Courts. Formal guardianship is crucial for families with a disabled adult in the home. Without it, caregivers cannot make decisions or handle needs relating to a disabled adult’s medical care, insurance, housing, income and activities.
