The go-getting, dynamic, and diverse volunteer group that raised over $100,000 for The Family Center mentoring program is looking for new members! Local professionals who seek to raise awareness, resources, and funds for vulnerable children and families in New York City, join The Family Center Leadership Council. The Leadership Council celebrates the idea of family with a passionate commitment to serve the needs of families in the metropolitan area through the sharing of energy, resources and advocacy.
Serving on the Leadership Council is a great way to give back to the community, participate in volunteer opportunities with The Family Center’s children and families, network and collaborate with individuals from various backgrounds and professions, and acquire skills that will promote professional and personal advancement.
Membership involves monthly meetings (Oct-June), planning and hosting two major fundraising events each year: “Bids for Kids” in the fall, “Bloom” in the spring, at least one mixer with the Board of Directors in a social environment, and at least one Leadership Council structured activity with our families, such as softball in Central Park or bowling at Lucky Strike.
