Our Toy Drive Elves

Hunter College HS students StandUp2Cancer and help The Family Center’s Toy Drive!

On December 17th and 18th, The Family Center was visited by numerous volunteers who donated their time, energy and holiday spirit to our Toy Drive.  These very special Toy Drive ‘elves’ organized and sorted thousands of toy, book and game donations so that we could easily distribute them to client families in need.

Hunter College High School’s StandUp2Cancer group came to The Family Center on December 17th.  The next day, employee volunteers from the New York office of Pariveda Solutions pitched in to organize and sort toys.  We were delighted to learn that Pariveda employees volunteer on a quarterly basis, so The Family Center hopes to see these new corporate friends again soon!

Also on December 18th, our very own Leadership Council hosted its December social at The Family Center, so that current and prospective members could help with the Toy Drive and learn more about this initiative connecting corporations and community groups with our client families for the holidays.  We look forward to seeing the results of this high-touch recruitment effort in 2014.

The Family Center is grateful to all our Toy Drive volunteers!
