The Family Center welcomed 2015 Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gregory Pardlo for a poetry reading and Q&A on Friday, February 5th. A resident of Bedford-Stuyvesant and neighbor of The Family Center’s, Gregory read some of his poems and answered questions about his drafting process and professional endeavors since winning the coveted literary prize. At the end of the evening, names were pulled in a raffle and some lucky clients took home copies of Gregory’s two books, Digest and Totem. The Family Center is tremendously grateful to Gregory Pardlo for captivating our clients with his poems and offering them an experience, which they rarely have to opportunity to enjoy.
