TFC Receives a New York Life Community Impact Grant

The Family Center is thrilled to have received a $20,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life.  This grant will allow The Family Center to ensure that young children, receiving our developmental assessments and interventions in Early Support for Lifelong Success (ESLS), can also access the psychological and psychiatric services of The Irene LeeKong Health & Wellness Institute and conversely, that children at the Institute can benefit from ESLS services.

Family Center Board member Joel Field initially introduced our agency to New York Life over a year ago, and our organizations’ partnership has significantly grown since then.  New York Life employees joined Joel in volunteering for our 2014 Toy Drive and client Holiday Party.  Joel has also successfully encouraged scores of his colleagues to donate in support of our programs for vulnerable NYC children and families.

Joel and New York Life are planning to present The Family Center with this grant at the Leadership Council’s Early Thanksgiving for client families and their children on November 21st in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.  Everyone at The Family Center is extremely grateful to Joel and New York Life for this generous support.  This proves that working together, we can impact the community!

The Community Impact Grant program awards grants of up to $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations which are championed by New York Life agents and employees to serve the needs of their local communities.  More than 366 grants totaling more than $4.7 million have been awarded to nonprofits across the country since the program’s inception in 2008.
