The MDRT Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to The Family Center to support the acquisition of program supplies that Childhood Development Specialists will use to gauge the developmental progress of 50 NYC children, under age 10, who were exposed to HIV and/ or substances prior to birth.

Through its global grants programs, the MDRT Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award nearly $1 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to more than 100 charitable organizations worldwide.
Representing the MDRT Foundation, Joel M. Field III, CFP®, CLU®, LUTCF, will present this grant to The Family Center on April 10, 2016 at a brunch following the agency’s participation in the 2016 JFK Runway Run. Joel has served on the Board of Directors of The Family Center since 2014, and has been an MDRT member for 4 years now.
“Joel brings valuable resources and skills to The Family Center’s work keeping vulnerable NYC families stronger, longer. Our entire Board and everyone at the agency is grateful for the MDRT Foundation’s support,” says Shamoun Afram, Family Center Board Chair.
The Family Center’s mission is to strengthen families affected by crisis, illness or loss to create a more secure present and future for their children. The MDRT Foundation grant is providing The Family Center with much-needed play therapy supplies that are used to assess children, who are under age 10, exposed to HIV and/ or substances prior to birth, for developmental delays and other challenges to their health and growth.
