On Friday, December 9th, hundreds of our client families and their children gathered together for The Family Center’s Annual Holiday Party! Over 95% of the families served by TFC live below the federal poverty line, making the holidays a difficult time for the children in our care. The Holiday Party is a time for our families, all of whom have been impacted by devastating crisis or loss, to come together to celebrate the season in a stress-free environment. This year’s theme was Holidays in Africa. Dressed in their African best, families and children arrived at the party, where they enjoyed African drumming lessons, tasted African dishes, took photos with Santa, created beautiful beaded necklaces and animal masks, and swam down a virtual Nile.
