Today is World AIDS Day, an annual event first designated in 1988. World AIDS Day is dedicated to raising awareness about the HIV pandemic and mourning those we have lost. Increasingly, it is also a time to celebrate the amazing advances in treatment and care that are helping PLWHA live long and healthy lives.
Here at The Family Center, we are graduating our 7th class from The Positive Life Workshop (TPLW) today. After this commencement ceremony, we have invited the new graduates, along with a group of previous TPLW participants, to join us for a World AIDS Day lunch.
We at The Family Center encourage you to think about what you can do to halt the spread of HIV and support those living with it. We at TFC salute all New Yorkers who are PLWHA!
