Advanced Cancer Law Project

Thank You to The New York Bar Foundation for Supporting New Yorkers with Advanced Cancer and Their Families!

LWI’s Advanced Cancer Law Project (ACLP) provides holistic civil legal assistance to low-income NYC residents affected by late-stage cancers. Our goal is to help clients achieve or maintain stability in their income, housing, healthcare and family relationships and help clients make a plan for their and their family’s future.

ACLP services are designed to be accessible. Many people with late-stage cancers may be hospitalized, homebound, or otherwise find it difficult travel, especially throughout NYC. For this reason, through the Advanced Cancer Law Project we bring our legal services to our clients – whether that’s in their home, hospital, hospice, or any other place they can meet comfortably in NYC.***

We know that coping with a cancer diagnosis and treatment may leave little time to address the myriad legal issues that often occur at the same time. LWI’s attorneys and advocates can help clients resolve problems across multiple areas of law through representation in court proceedings and administrative hearings, advocacy with administrative agencies and others, document preparation, and individualized advice and counsel. The ACLP also helps families address legal issues after losing a loved one to cancer.
