On Thursday, May 16th, The Family Center welcomed over 200 guests to BLOOM 2013 for an evening of dancing, dining and drinking ―all in support of The Buddy Program and its work matching at-risk NYC youth with adult mentors. Thanks to the hard work of our Board of Directors and Leadership Council, BLOOM 2013 experienced 15% net revenue growth from last year.
Aside from the great music, food and beverages, BLOOM 2013 most incredible moment involved Luna, an 8 year-old little Buddy from Manhattan who spoke about her big Buddy Rita and the impact of The Family Center Buddy Program on her life:
“The best part about having a Buddy is when there is a special day and they are always there to support you”.
The Family Center is grateful to Rita, Luna and her brother Deshon, who is also in The Buddy Program, for joining us at BLOOM 2013. The night would also not have been possible without our event sponsors, auction sponsors, and everyone who supported the event by attending, volunteering or donating. Thank you!
