Since The Family Center's inception 25 years ago, we have been committed to supporting caregiver-headed families, or families in which children are being raised by someone other than their biological parents.
In 2019, our expert social workers and clinicians facilitated three different support groups for caregivers raising minor children. At the end of the year, these caregivers -aunts, grandmothers and more- came together to celebrate.
Raising children is no small task, and raising children in the wake of a traumatic loss, as many Family Center caregivers do, is a monumental feat of courage, perseverance and love.
