The Family Center is thrilled to announce that we are launching a new program called a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. For the first time in our agency’s 26-year history, The Family Center will offer integrated primary medical care and substance use disorder services through this new program.
In May, The Family Center learned that our application for a new two-year seed grant from the federal Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration was approved. We are now in the process of expanding our staff and services to accommodate our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. This expansion will allow The Family Center to offer primary medical care and substance abuse treatment services to an additional 350 vulnerable New Yorkers and their families annually.
For 26 years, The Family Center has increasingly integrated services –first social and legal. Thanks to our funders and supporters, The Family Center added pediatric behavioral and mental health services seven years ago with the opening of The Irene LeeKong Health & Wellness Institute. With the opening of our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, The Family Center’s goal of fully-integrated services is being realized.
