TFC visits DC

From August 23rd to 26th, a team of Family Center staff attended a conference in Washington D.C. for agencies that receive Ryan White federal funding. For 15 years, these Ryan White funds have helped support TFC services to HIV-affected families.

During the conference, The Family Center had the honor of presenting on our renowned health support services. Donna Horton, our Community Health Nurse, in conjunction with TFC Health Educator Julia Sanchez, and Dr. Warren Reich, our Research Evaluation Manager, conducted workshops highlighting our approach to treatment adherence and medication support. This approach utilizes electronic pill bottles, peer support, and other techniques to improve drug adherence and thereby increase the efficacy of treatment. Joining Warren, Julia, and Donna were our Executive Director Ivy Gamble Cobb and Deputy Executive Director Jan Hudis, both of whom participated in key leadership meetings.

Our time in Washington provided a great opportunity to share the encouraging results of this innovative programming as well as the chance to learn from colleagues who are devoted to similar goals and missions.
