The Family Center’s Royal Jubilation

A Family Center princess decorates her tea cup.

On Saturday, June 2nd, The Family Center hosted a Royal Tea Party for client families receiving our early childhood services.  Timed to coincide with the British Diamond Jubilee, the Royal Tea Party developed as our staff’s ingenious way of teaching the children about manners.  Don’t all princes and princesses know how to behave well?  After arriving in their best formal wear, children decorated tea cups and practiced saying “Please” and “Thank you,” along with other polite etiquette.  Our long-time community partner, Project Sunshine, also joined in the festivities by making yogurt parfait with the families.  Everyone left feeling poised and a bit more regal.
