On Wednesday, March 4th, the Barclay’s Center hosted Family Center clients, volunteers and staff for Nonprofit Night.  Before the Nets-Hornets game tip-off, our Executive Director Ivy Gamble Cobb, Leadership Council Chair Antonio Gonzalez, and two of our beloved client children joined a pair of Brooklynettes at half court for a photo opportunity.  They appeared on the Barclay’s Center jumbotron and everyone in attendance enjoyed a moment when the game announcer spoke about The Family Center and our work throughout New York City.

The Family Center also had a table on the Barclay’s Center concourse where game-goers stopped by to learn more about volunteer opportunities.  A number of people signed up to learn more about The Buddy Program, our Leadership Council and our upcoming fundraiser BLOOM 2015, where we will auction off a signed Brooklyn Nets Joe Johnson #7 jersey.

Now that The Family Center is happily settled in Brooklyn, we are delighted that members of the community, like the Barclay’s Center Brooklyn Nets, are welcoming our presence with such fanfare.
